Solpod Solar: Reduce Your Energy Bill & Emissions at the Same Time

Reduce Your Electricity Bill With Solar Energy

The cost of electricity has skyrocketed in Australia, significantly impacting upon both businesses and households.  Rooftop solar can help reduce energy bills, with Solpod offering terms of less than five years with Solpod Rental.

Melissa Clarke wrote in an ABC report: “Short-term relief from rising gas and electricity prices is unlikely, with the nation’s energy ministers facing limited options to immediately curtail the spiralling costs.”

Solpod developed the world’s first redeployable rooftop solar, making it easier for businesses to save money on their electricity bills and reduce carbon emissions at the same time.  Businesses can choose to install Solpod’s relocatable solar pods on terms from only a few years.

Businesses benefit from rooftop solar by saving on electricity costs.  Each Australian Made solar pod is a grouping of 10 solar PV panels, rapidly installed.

“Rising international demand for coal and gas due to the war in Ukraine, combined with local constraints due to problems with ageing coal-fired power generators, are significant causes of the price spikes,” Ms Clarke reported.

Improve the Sustainability of Your Business

More and more businesses are recognising the urgency towards sustainability and are installing rooftop solar.  As well as saving on energy costs, rooftop solar reduces overall reliance on electricity that is derived from coal or gas.

There is increasing momentum in the commercial sector towards corporate sustainability.  COP26 called on the global community to ‘accelerate the phase-out of coal’ as a major initiative to keep climate change to within 1.5 degrees. Businesses are increasingly recognising the need for corporate responsibility in reducing energy use that is derived from dirty coal and gas.

On the 5th of June, World Environment Day 2022 was another reminder for urgent action, ‘calling for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet.’  Solpod makes it easier for businesses to adopt rooftop solar with Solpod Rental.

18 pods / 100kWp is a popular sized Solpod rooftop solar installation. This sized installation is the equivalent of planting 500 trees or removing 21 cars from the roads.  Our CEO, James Larratt says, “Each time we install one we’re effectively putting a forest on an Australian factory rooftop.”

Solpod Rental Makes it Easier to Adopt Rooftop Solar

Solpod Rental means that businesses can install a rooftop solar system on planning cycles of less than 5 years.  Our solar pods do not disturb the roof sheet when installed or removed.

The Solpod solar executive team found that many businesses are not adopting rooftop solar, even though solar is cheaper than the grid.  This is because many businesses rent the buildings they occupy and operate on shorter planning cycles of 3-5 years.  Standard solar requires a long-term commitment of up to 20 to 25 years, effectively acting as a barrier for the adoption of solar.

The Solpod team have developed rapidly-installed solar pods to meet the market need. The pods are secured to the roof sheet using a non-adhesive technology.  The pods are able to be relocated between buildings.

Solpod has since been helping businesses around Australia reduce their energy costs and reduce emissions at the same time.
